A Purple Swamphen looks through the grass..
The Purple Swamphen, common, yet an unusually brilliant looking bird. Usually can be seen in shallow wetlands but will make a quick getaway into tall grass by the bank if spotted. Approaching this very shy bird, took me approx. 30 mins. I used the tall grass to hide myself and every time the bird bent its neck to feed I made slow moments. The tall grass kept me hidden, but also made it difficult for me to get a clear picture. I kept shifting in my place to find a gap through the thick grass, enough to get a sharp portrait of the bird..
